网易不甘寂寞，也开始做基于FLV技术的在线视频服务了，其产品“网易播吧”2007年4月12日上线，比我们“新浪播客”晚了4个月。网易很低调，目前还只能在网易娱乐频道看到有网易播吧的链接，其二级域名为：http://orz.163.com/
网易取名“播吧”很有意思，让人一下子就联想到了波霸。至于二级域名orz什么意思，网易没解释，可以参考一下百度百科上的orz词条。
我在上面逛了一圈，发现网易播吧的核心技术不是自己开发的，采用的是56.com的引擎，目前在技术上对我们构不成威胁。我们的新版本即将上线，届时会将二者再拉开一个档次。
网易以“网易播吧，网聚原创新势力”为口号，可以看出其准备大打原创牌，这是与其他视频网站不同的一点，应当引起重视。

播客(Podcast或Podcasting)与博客(BLOG)是同义词，都是个人通过互联网发布信息的方式，并且都需要借助于博客/播客发布程序进行信息发布和管理。博客与播客的主要区别在于，博客所传播的以文字和图片信息为主，而播客传递的则是音频和视频信息(目前播客是以视频信息为主)。
